High Definition TV for FREE via satellite
If High Definition TV services from Sky seem too expensive then you may be interested in the freesat service developed by the BBC and ITV. The free satellite service became available all over the UK from 6th May 2008 and is the satellite equivalent of the Freeview terrestrial TV service, but with the added bonus of High Definition content from the BBC and ITV.
At the time of writing Freeview is available to only 73% of the population in the UK and this means you are missing out if you live in a low (or no) signal area. The new satellite service opens up the possibility of full High Definition digital TV for the whole of the UK.
Digital TV equipment for freesat
It’s dead simple to receive the freesat digital TV service. All that’s needed is a satellite dish, an LNB device (that fits on the dish a receives the signal) and a freesat receiver, plus the cables, connectors and mountings to hook it all up.
